Dodge Hornet oil change timing

The Hornet uses an oil change indicator rather than a fixed mileage. The manual states the interval must never exceed 10,000 miles, 1 year or 350 engine hours, whichever comes first, and that service is due within 500 miles of the message. Tire rotation and a battery terminal inspection are tied to that same oil change interval, and in dusty or off-road use the engine air cleaner filter is inspected at every oil change and replaced if necessary. Hornet service intervals by mileage

Alongside the indicator, the manual prints fixed rows. Every 10,000 miles the CV and universal joints, brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums and hoses, engine cooling system and hoses and exhaust system are inspected. The cabin air filter is replaced every 12,000 miles. Brake linings and the front suspension, tie rod ends and boot seals are inspected every 20,000 miles. The engine air cleaner filter is replaced every 30,000 miles. Power transfer unit and rear differential fluid levels are inspected every 40,000 miles. Brake fluid is replaced every 24 months. Door hinge roller pivot joints are lubricated with white lithium grease twice a year, and the manual also lists monthly owner checks of oil level, washer fluid, tire pressure and wear, coolant reservoir, brake fluid and all lights.

Gasoline and plug-in hybrid differences

Spark plug timing is the one item the manuals split by powertrain. On the 2.0L gasoline engine, spark plugs are charted at 60,000 and 140,000 miles. On the 1.3L plug-in hybrid, they are charted at 40,000, 80,000 and 140,000 miles. Selecting the powertrain in the controls above changes that row.
